It handles all the angular misalignment, distance variation, and overload protection requirements of the tractor-to-implement connection. The round baler gearbox, on the other hand, is an internal component mounted within the baler frame. It receives the single rotational input from the PTO drive shaft and distributes it to multiple output shafts that drive the pickup mechanism, feed rollers, bale chamber belts or chains, and the wrapping or tying system.
