The sequence begins the moment the operator engages the live PTO lever inside the tractor cab. The tractor’s engine crankshaft, already spinning at around 1900-2200 engine RPM, drives a splined output shaft rotating at the standardized 540 RPM PTO shaft speed (or 1000 PTO shaft speed on higher horsepower models).
