As the tractor turns or the baler rides over uneven terrain, the shaft extends and retracts along its lemon profile tubes. At the baler end, the implement side PTO shaft yoke engages the BigBaler’s 1.750-6 spline input, driving the main gearbox that distributes power to the flywheel, packer forks, plunger, and knotting system.<\/p>\n<p>If the shaft is equipped with overload protection, such as a slip clutch PTO shaft or shear bolt PTO shaft, the protective device sits between the shaft and the implement input. During a torque overload event, the slip clutch will begin to slip or the shear bolt will fracture, instantly disconnecting drive power and preventing expensive damage to the baler’s internal gearbox
