Gear ini diperbuat daripada keluli untuk ketahanan dan kekuatan, dan ia mempunyai gigi lurus yang dipotong secara jejari di sepanjang permukaan berbentuk kon gear. Nisbah gear 3.5:1 bermaksud gear pemacu (gear yang lebih kecil, dipanggil pinion) mesti berputar 3.5 kali untuk memutarkan gear yang lebih besar (gear pemacu) sekali.<\/p>\n<p>Sistem gear serong lurus ini biasanya digunakan dalam aplikasi yang memerlukan transmisi tork yang tepat, seperti pembezaan automotif, jentera perindustrian dan alat kuasa. Reka bentuk gigi lurus adalah lebih mudah dan lebih kos efektif untuk dihasilkan berbanding gear serong lingkaran, tetapi ia cenderung menghasilkan lebih banyak bunyi dan getaran semasa operasi. Pembinaan keluli memastikan kapasiti beban yang tinggi dan rintangan haus, menjadikan gear ini sesuai untuk kegunaan tugas berat. Disebabkan reka bentuknya yang ringkas, ia sesuai untuk aplikasi berkelajuan sederhana dan tork tinggi di mana kecekapan dan kebolehpercayaan adalah penting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\"
