The primary tractor PTO shaft is constructed as a CAT 6 Constant Velocity (CV) PTO driveline shaft, available with a 1.375-21 yoke for standard 21-spline tractors or a 55N CV body for 1.375-21 and 1.750-20 spline configurations. This heavy duty PTO shaft upgrades the commonly factory-installed CAT4 unit, offering significantly improved service life through its constant-velocity joint design, which eliminates vibration and angular power-loss even during tight field turns. The secondary discbine PTO shaft is engineered as a Category 5 Double CV with the FNT34 Combination Clutch (friction and overrunning), a configuration that precisely mirrors the OEM secondary driveline architecture of the DC93 and DC103 conditioners.

Whether you are cutting lush alfalfa stands, dense grass swards, or tough cane crops at high ground speeds, this PTO drive shaft for discbine ensures uninterrupted power delivery from your tractor to every function of the conditioner, including the cutterbar spinning at 3,000 RPM and the conditioning rolls. The slip clutch PTO shaft assembly at the rear of the driveline provides critical overload protection, safeguarding both tractor and implement from shock loads caused by rocks, obstructions, or sudden blockages. As a trusted replacement of Weasler PTO shaft and OEM components, CMN Transmission’s unit ships factory-direct with ISO and CE certifications, allowing producers across North America, Europe, Oceania, and beyond to source dependable PTO shaft parts at a competitive price without sacrificing quality or fit precision.

Arbre principal : CAT 6 à vitesse constante

Implement input shaft is usually 1.375-21 spline. CAT 6 Constant Velocity Main Shaft
The CAT 6 CV PTO shaft delivers smooth, vibration-free torque transmission even at severe operating angles. Compared to the standard CAT4 factory shaft, the CAT6 configuration offers a higher torque rating and longer bearing life, making it ideal for the high-RPM demands of the DC93 and DC103 disc mower conditioners operating at disc speeds reaching 3,000 RPM. This upgrade is strongly recommended for operators working in heavy alfalfa or dense grass stands.

2. FNT34 Combination Clutch Protection
The secondary Category 5 Double CV shaft integrates the FNT34 Combination Clutch, which pairs a friction clutch with an overrunning clutch assembly. The friction element absorbs shock loads from sudden blockages or rock strikes, while the overrunning component prevents reverse-inertia damage during shutdown. This slip clutch PTO shaft design ensures superior driveline protection for both your tractor’s PTO and the conditioner gearboxes, reducing costly repair downtime in the field.

3. Compatibilité multi-splines
This tractor PTO shaft is available in three spline configurations to match your exact tractor: 1.375-6 spline (540 RPM standard), 1.375-21 spline (1000 RPM), and 1.750-20 spline for larger-frame tractors. The DC103 model’s swivel hitch option supports 540 RPM only, while the standard hitch offers both 540 and 1000 RPM operation. Always verify your tractor’s PTO output before ordering to ensure a direct drop-in fit with no adapters required.

4. Industrial-Grade PTO Shaft Tube & Guard
The PTO shaft tube is manufactured from high-strength, heat-treated steel tubing for maximum torsional rigidity under continuous agricultural loads. The outer PTO shaft guard and cover are constructed from durable, impact-resistant polymer with integrated guard chains, meeting CE safety standards. Unlike many budget-grade aftermarket units whose guard tubes crack after a single season, CMN Transmission’s PTO shaft cover is tested for multi-season field durability in all weather conditions.

5. Precision PTO Shaft Universal Joints
Every PTO shaft universal joint (U-joint) used in this assembly is precision-machined to ISO tolerances, hardened, and grease-sealed for extended service intervals. The PTO shaft yoke connections at both tractor and implement ends are manufactured using forged steel for maximum strength under shock-load conditions. All PTO shaft u joint assemblies are individually tested for runout and torque capacity before final assembly, ensuring consistent performance across the full range of disc mower operating conditions.

6. Custom PTO Shaft & OEM Options
CMN Transmission specializes in custom PTO shaft fabrication for non-standard applications. If your specific DC93/DC103 configuration has unusual PTO shaft length or spline requirements due to a swivel hitch retrofit or wide-frame tractor, our technical team will supply a dimensional drawing and confirm the correct PTO shaft dimensions before production. OEM-quantity orders with private-label branding are welcome, making CMN the preferred PTO shaft adapter and replacement component supplier for dealers and fleet operators worldwide.

Working Principle of Disc Mower PTO Shaft

The PTO driveline shaft for disc mower is the mechanical spine that transfers rotational power from the tractor’s rear power take-off output to the disc mower conditioner’s internal driveline system. When the tractor operator engages the PTO lever, the tractor’s rear output shaft rotates at either 540 RPM (6-spline, 1.375″ diameter) or 1,000 RPM (21-spline, 1.375″ diameter), depending on the selected speed. The tractor PTO shaft yoke at the tractor end of this assembly slides over and locks onto the tractor PTO stub shaft via the spline connection, transmitting torque immediately. For DC93 operation, the 540 RPM 540 PTO shaft setting is used; the DC103’s standard hitch supports both speeds, while the swivel hitch restricts operation to 540 RPM only.

As the tractor turns or traverses uneven terrain, the angular relationship between tractor and implement changes continuously. A standard cardan-joint shaft would create velocity fluctuations at high angles, transmitting vibration and pulsating torque into the gearbox. The CAT 6 PTO shaft universal joint (constant velocity design) eliminates this by maintaining an equal input-to-output speed ratio regardless of the operating angle, even up to the steep articulation angles encountered during headland turns. This smooth power delivery is critical to protecting the DC93/DC103’s precision cutterbar gearboxes and conditioning roll drives.

The PTO shaft tubing sections consist of an inner tube (typically star or lemon-profile) that slides within an outer tube, allowing the shaft to extend or retract as the hitch geometry changes during field operation and transport. This telescoping action is critical to preventing bind-up or over-extension. The correct PTO shaft length must be verified for each tractor-implement combination, as DC93/DC103 primary shafts are often relatively short (approximately 36″ overall length), and operators must ensure sufficient telescoping overlap at all operating positions to avoid separation or over-turning.

The FNT34 Combination Clutch located at the rear of the secondary agricultural PTO shaft assembly serves two distinct protective functions. The friction slip clutch element is pre-set to a specific torque limit; when an obstruction (such as a large rock or plugged conditioner) creates a sudden torque spike above this threshold, the clutch slips momentarily, absorbing the energy before it can damage the gearboxes, yokes, or tractor PTO output shaft. The overrunning (freewheel) clutch allows the implement’s heavy rotating masses (discs, conditioning rolls) to continue spinning freely after the tractor PTO is disengaged, preventing damaging reverse-torque from being fed back into the tractor drivetrain as those masses decelerate.

Once torque reaches the front swivel gearbox of the DC93/DC103 (driven from the left side), it is distributed to the cutterbar (spinning 7 or 8 discs at 3,000 RPM) and the conditioning rolls (rubber or flail, rotating at 647-718 RPM). The swivel gearbox design on the DC103 means no steering link is needed, maintaining perfect PTO shaft alignment throughout the turning arc. CMN Transmission’s secondary disc mower PTO shaft is engineered to precisely match this power distribution architecture, ensuring consistent output across every key function of the conditioner system.

Application Areas

1. Hay Harvesting
The primary use case for this PTO shaft for Case IH disc mower. The DC93 and DC103 cut grasses and legumes into windrows at disc speeds of 3,000 RPM while the integrated rubber or flail conditioning rolls crimp and crack crop stems to accelerate field drying. The smooth constant-velocity tractor arbre de transmission de prise de force ensures consistent disc speed, delivering a clean, even cut that promotes faster crop conditioning and shorter field drying times before baling.

2. Forage Harvesting
Mowing high-value crops like alfalfa, clover, and ryegrass at the right stage of maturity to maximize nutritional content for livestock feed. Whether the harvested material is destined for dry hay bales or fresh green chop, the heavy duty PTO shaft and combination clutch protect the conditioner from the high impact loads that arise when mowing thick, wet, mature forage stands. Consistent torque delivery from the agricultural PTO shaft maintains uniform roll pressure for thorough stem conditioning throughout each cut.

3. Silage Production
Cutting crops at higher moisture levels for fermented silage storage in bunkers, pits, or wrapped bales, where fast and even cutting ensures uniform fermentation. The DC103’s optional 1000 RPM 1000 rpm PTO shaft input speed is especially valuable in high-volume silage operations, enabling faster ground speed while maintaining full cutting and conditioning capacity. The PTO shaft with slip clutch protects the driveline from the sudden torque spikes characteristic of heavy, wet crop swaths.

4. Gestion des pâturages
Topping and trimming pastures to control rank or stemmy growth, remove weeds, and encourage fresh, palatable re-growth for grazing animals. The DC93’s compact 9’2″ cutting width makes it maneuverable in smaller paddocks and irregularly shaped pastures. In this application, the disc mower PTO shaft operates at lighter loads, but the overrunning clutch in the slip clutch PTO shaft assembly remains essential for protecting the tractor PTO when stone-strewn paddocks cause sudden cutterbar stops.

5. Cover Crop Termination
Cutting down winter cover crops such as cereal rye, vetch, or oats ahead of planting season, leaving the biomass as a protective mulch layer to suppress weeds and protect soil structure. Cover crops are often thick and tangled, creating high initial cutting resistance. The CAT 6 PTO drive shaft for discbine and the FNT34 combination clutch work together to absorb these shock loads, allowing continuous operation at full ground speed without the driveline failures that commonly affect lighter-duty aftermarket PTO shaft parts.

6. Roadside & Specialty Mowing
Maintaining roadsides, drainage ditches, airport buffer strips, and conservation headlands where a clean, controlled cut is needed in irregular or sensitive areas. In these applications, the PTO shaft for Case IH discbine frequently encounters rocks, debris, and uneven grades that stress the driveline. The reinforced PTO shaft yoke and forged universal joints in this assembly are specifically designed to withstand such conditions, while the PTO shaft guard protects bystanders from rotating components in public-access environments.

Installation Steps of PTO Shaft for Disc Mower

1. Safety & Pre-Installation Check
Before beginning, park the tractor on level ground, shut off the engine, engage the parking brake, and wait for all rotating components to come to a complete stop. Inspect the tractor’s PTO stub shaft and the implement input shaft for corrosion, wear, or damage. Clean both shafts thoroughly. Verify that the replacement PTO driveline shaft matches the spline count, diameter, and overall collapsed length specified for your tractor-implement combination before proceeding.

2. Measure PTO Shaft Length
Position the DC93 or DC103 at the typical working hitch angle and measure the distance from the tractor PTO stub to the implement input shaft. The new PTO shaft length in its fully compressed state must be shorter than this measurement, and in its fully extended state must not over-extend beyond the safe tube engagement overlap (minimum 1/3 of total tube length). For DC93/DC103, note that the primary PTO shaft dimensions are often short (approx. 36″ OAL); verify both minimum and maximum working lengths carefully.

3. Lubricate Before Assembly
Apply a light film of quality anti-seize grease to the inner PTO shaft tubing profile and both yoke splines before connection. Grease the cross-journal bearings of each PTO shaft u joint via the grease nipples (zerks) until fresh grease appears at each bearing seal. Using insufficient lubrication is the single most common cause of premature universal joint failure, especially in heavy agricultural applications like disc mowing where continuous high torque and angular displacement occur simultaneously throughout the work shift.

4. Connect Tractor-End Yoke
Slide the tractor-end PTO shaft yoke onto the tractor PTO stub shaft, ensuring the splines are fully engaged. Push the collar lock inward, slide the yoke completely onto the stub, and release the collar until it clicks into the locking groove. Tug firmly to verify positive engagement. For 1.375-6 (540 RPM) tractors powering the DC93, confirm the 6-spline connection; for the DC103 with 1000 RPM input, confirm the 21-spline PTO shaft adapter is correctly seated in the 1.375-21 spline stub.

5. Connect Implement-End & Attach Guard
Connect the implement-end yoke to the DC93/DC103 front input shaft, ensuring the locking mechanism is fully engaged. Rotate the outer PTO shaft cover and PTO shaft guard halves into position and connect the guard anchor chains or straps to fixed, non-rotating points on both the tractor and implement. The guard must remain stationary while the inner shaft rotates. Never operate the disc mower with the guard removed; rotating PTO drive shafts without a complete guard present are a leading cause of severe agricultural injuries.

6. Test Run & Final Verification
Before commencing field operation, start the tractor and engage PTO at low speed (approx. half throttle) for 2-3 minutes. Listen and watch for unusual vibration, clicking, or binding which would indicate an incorrect length, misalignment, or insufficient lubrication. Then raise the disc mower to its maximum transport angle and re-verify there is no over-extension of the PTO shaft tube sections. Check all guard anchor points have not loosened under operation. Only when all checks are satisfactory should you proceed to full field operation at rated PTO speed.

How to Choose the Right PTO Drive Shaft for Discbine

1. Identify Your Tractor PTO Spline
The first step is determining your tractor’s PTO output configuration: 6-spline (1.375″ diameter, 540 RPM standard), 21-spline (1.375″ diameter, 1000 RPM), or 20-spline (1.750″ diameter, large-frame). Refer to your tractor operator’s manual or physically count the splines on your PTO stub shaft. This is the most common source of ordering errors, and selecting the wrong tractor PTO shafts spline will prevent engagement entirely. Contact CMN Transmission’s technical team if unsure.

2. Confirm Model: DC93 vs. DC103
The DC93 requires a minimum 65 HP tractor and operates at 540 RPM only; the DC103 requires 80 HP and can accept either 540 or 1000 RPM (standard hitch) or 540 RPM only (swivel hitch). The DC103’s optional 1000 RPM input makes the 1000 PTO shaft (21-spline) configuration available on compatible tractors. Confirm your exact model and hitch type before ordering the secondary PTO shaft for discbine to ensure the clutch assembly matches your power input requirements.

3. Mesurer la longueur d'arbre requise
Measure the stub-to-stub distance at normal working position, then measure it again at the maximum hitch angle (transport). The collapsed PTO shaft length must be shorter than the minimum distance, and the extended length must preserve at least 1/3 tube overlap at the maximum distance. For the DC93/DC103, the primary shaft is often short (approx. 36″ OAL). If your setup requires a non-standard measurement, CMN Transmission offers custom PTO shaft fabrication to exact PTO shaft dimensions.

4. Choose Primary vs. Secondary Shaft
The DC93/DC103 uses two distinct shafts: the primary (tractor-to-implement front gearbox) and the secondary (internal conditioner drive). Both are available from CMN Transmission. If only one component is worn, order the specific shaft rather than a complete assembly to reduce cost. If both are damaged or if you are undertaking a complete driveline overhaul, ordering the matched set ensures uniform wear characteristics and compatible PTO shaft sizes across the entire power train of your disc mower conditioner.

5. Verify Clutch Torque Setting
The FNT34 combination clutch in the secondary shear bolt PTO shaft and slip clutch PTO shaft assembly is pre-set for standard DC93/DC103 operating torque. If you run exceptionally heavy crops or if your tractor produces torque spikes above the standard range, discuss clutch torque re-rating with CMN Transmission. A clutch set too low will slip unnecessarily under normal loads (reducing efficiency), while one set too high provides insufficient protection. Matching the clutch torque setting to your specific operating conditions is key to long driveline life.

6. Request Dimensional Drawing if in Doubt
CMN Transmission’s technical team provides pre-sale dimensional drawings for all tractor PTO shaft assemblies on request. Simply provide your tractor model, PTO HP rating, implement model (DC93 or DC103), and hitch type, and we will confirm the correct PTO shaft sizes, yoke configurations, and clutch specification before your order is placed. This eliminates returns and ensures your replacement of Weasler PTO shaft or OEM component arrives ready to install without modification.

Common Troubleshooting of Discbine PTO Shaft

1. Excessive Vibration at PTO Engagement
Likely causes: Worn or damaged PTO shaft u joint cross bearings; phase misalignment of inner and outer yokes (yokes must be in phase, not 90 degrees apart); insufficient lubrication causing bearing galling; bent PTO shaft tube. Solution: Inspect each U-joint for play or rust; replace worn crosses. Verify yoke phase alignment marks are aligned. Regrease all cross bearings. If tube is bent or dented, replace the complete shaft assembly to prevent compounding damage to the disc mower gearboxes.

2. Slip Clutch Slipping Under Normal Load
Likely causes: Clutch friction discs worn below minimum thickness; springs fatigued and not maintaining adequate clamping pressure; discs glazed from repeated partial slippage without proper burnishing. Solution: Disassemble the FNT34 clutch and inspect friction disc thickness against the specification. Replace all friction discs and springs as a set. Re-torque the clutch adjustment to factory specification for the DC93/DC103 power range. A slip clutch PTO shaft slipping at normal operating torque represents both an inefficiency and a potential safety hazard from accumulated heat.

3. PTO Shaft Telescoping Stiffness or Seizing
Likely causes: Insufficient or contaminated lubricant in the PTO shaft tubing profile; debris, crop material, or rust build-up inside the outer tube; guard chains preventing free telescoping movement. Solution: Clean the inner tube profile thoroughly and apply fresh NLGI Grade 2 grease. Inspect the outer tube interior for scale or crop packing and clear with a brush. Verify guard chain length allows full stroke movement without binding. Stiff telescoping under load creates peak torque spikes that can shear the yoke splines or damage the gearbox.

4. Yoke Disengagement During Operation
Likely causes: Collar lock not fully engaged on installation; collar spring broken or missing; excessive shaft length creating over-extension at maximum working angle. Solution: Reconnect the yoke and verify an audible click when the lock collar springs into its groove; pull firmly to confirm it cannot be removed without pressing the collar inward. If the collar spring is damaged, replace it before operation. For over-extension, shorten the PTO shaft length or reposition the drawbar to reduce the hitch-to-implement input shaft distance as required by PTO shaft dimensions.

5. Rapid U-Joint Wear or Failure
Likely causes: Operating the disc mower at excessive angles beyond the joint’s rated angular capacity; under-lubrication of the cross bearings; using a non-CV (standard cardan) shaft for an application requiring constant velocity performance. Solution: For the DC93/DC103, always use the CAT 6 CV heavy duty PTO shaft rather than a standard cardan shaft, since the angular demands of the swivel hitch configuration exceed safe operating angles for non-CV joints. Re-grease cross bearings every 8 operating hours during heavy use to prevent accelerated bearing wear from contamination and load.

6. Guard Rotation or Damage
Likely causes: PTO shaft guard anchor chains or brackets detached from non-rotating points, allowing the guard to rotate with the shaft; guard chain too short, creating drag; guard cracked from impact or UV degradation. Solution: Reattach the guard chains to fixed non-rotating points; adjust chain length to allow full movement without tension. Replace cracked or broken guard sections immediately; a rotating PTO shaft cover presents a serious entanglement hazard. Never operate with a damaged guard, even temporarily. Replacement guard kits are available directly from CMN Transmission.

Disc Mower PTO Shaft & Disc Mower Gearbox

The disc mower PTO shaft and the disc mower gearbox are the two most critical power transmission components in any disc mower conditioner system, and they function as an inseparable team. While the PTO drive shaft for discbine acts as the power delivery link between tractor and implement, the disc mower gearbox (also known as the cutterbar module gearbox or conditioning drive gearbox) is the power distribution hub that multiplies and redirects that input torque to the cutting discs and conditioning rolls.

In the Case IH DC93 and DC103, the front swivel gearbox receives input from the tractor PTO shaft at 540 RPM and steps up the rotational speed to drive the modular cutterbar gearboxes at 3,000 RPM. Each modular disc gearbox contains bevel gears running in sealed oil, and each is individually isolated from its neighbor, meaning a failure in one module does not contaminate adjacent modules. The conditioning roll drive gearbox, driven separately from the front gearbox via a V-belt, distributes power to the rubber or flail conditioning rolls at 647-718 RPM.

The disc mower PTO shaft and gearboxes are subject to the same operating stresses and typically wear at correlated rates. In our experience supplying PTO shaft parts globally, operators who replace only a failed PTO shaft without inspecting the front gearbox input shaft bearings often experience a second failure within one season, because worn input bearings amplify the shock loads transmitted through the driveline, accelerating wear in the replacement agricultural PTO shaft as well.

For maximum system reliability, CMN Transmission recommends inspecting the gearbox input shaft seal, bearings, and oil level whenever a PTO shaft for Case IH disc mower is replaced. Conversely, a failing gearbox (indicated by oil leaks, unusual noise, or heat at the module) should be addressed before installing a new disc mower PTO shaft, as a damaged gearbox will create torque spikes that prematurely wear even the highest-quality replacement shaft. CMN Transmission stocks a comprehensive range of disc mower gearboxes and module assemblies compatible with the DC93 and DC103, allowing one-stop procurement of all major driveline components.

Why Choose CMN Transmission’s Agricultural PTO Shafts?

CMN Transmission (Korea) stands as one of the world’s leading suppliers of industrial and agricultural power transmission solutions, with a product range spanning PTO drive shafts, agricultural gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, planetary gearboxes, worm gearboxes, bevel gears, chain sprockets, chains, gear racks, pulleys, taper bushes, couplings, and more. The secondary shaft is a Category 5 Double CV with FNT34 combination clutch. Always measure the collapsed and extended length of the existing shaft before ordering to confirm the correct PTO shaft dimensions for your specific tractor hitch configuration.

Q: Can the DC103 run at 1000 RPM PTO?
A: Yes, the DC103 with a standard or drawbar swivel hitch can operate at either 540 RPM or 1,000 RPM. For 1000 RPM, you need the 1.375-21 spline version of this 1000 PTO shaft. However, the DC103 fitted with the two-point swivel hitch option is restricted to 540 RPM input only. Confirm your hitch type before selecting between the 540 PTO shaft and 1000 rpm PTO shaft configurations.

Q: Is this a direct replacement of Weasler PTO shaft?
A: Yes, CMN Transmission’s disc mower PTO shaft is engineered as a replacement of Weasler PTO shaft and OEM drivelines for the DC93/DC103. The yoke bore, spline count, CV joint angle, and tube profile are designed to match OEM specifications. Providing your exact tractor model and existing shaft part number to CMN’s technical team will allow them to confirm a direct fit before you order, eliminating any return risk.

Q: How long should a disc mower PTO shaft last?
A: A quality heavy duty PTO shaft on a DC93/DC103 application should last 3-6 seasons under normal use if properly lubricated and operated within its rated angular range. The most common failure modes are U-joint wear from under-lubrication and guard damage from contact with obstacles. Upgrading from CAT4 to CAT6 (as CMN recommends) significantly extends service life due to the higher torque rating and improved CV joint geometry of the larger category.

Q: What is the FNT34 combination clutch, and why does it matter?
A: The FNT34 is a specific combination clutch design integrating both a friction slip clutch and an overrunning (freewheel) clutch in a single housing. The slip clutch PTO shaft element protects against torque overloads from obstructions, while the overrunning function prevents reverse energy from the spinning disc masses from damaging the tractor PTO on shutdown. This dual-function design is specified by Case IH for the DC93/DC103 secondary shaft and is a key reason why CMN’s secondary shaft correctly replicates OEM driveline protection behavior.

Q: How often should I grease the PTO shaft u joints?
A: For heavy disc mowing applications on the DC93/DC103, we recommend greasing all PTO shaft u joint zerks every 8 operating hours during the season. Apply NLGI Grade 2 grease until fresh grease emerges from each bearing seal. Also lubricate the inner PTO shaft tube profile every 8 hours. Annual deep inspection of U-joint play and CV joint boot condition is recommended before the start of each season to catch early wear before it progresses to failure in the field.

Q: Can I get a custom length or spline PTO shaft for a non-standard setup?
A: Yes. CMN Transmission specializes in custom PTO shaft fabrication for non-standard applications. If your DC93/DC103 is fitted with a retrofit hitch, extended drawbar, or unusual tractor PTO configuration that results in non-standard PTO shaft length or PTO shaft dimensions, contact CMN’s technical team with your measurements and tractor model. We will supply a dimensional drawing confirmation and produce a shaft to your exact specification with the same quality certifications as our standard range.

Q: Why does my DC93/DC103 PTO shaft vibrate at high RPM?
A: Vibration at PTO operating speed on the DC93/DC103 is most commonly caused by: worn U-joint cross bearings, misaligned inner/outer yoke phasing (yokes must be phase-aligned, not 90 degrees apart), a bent PTO shaft tube, or excessive operating angle. On the DC103 with swivel hitch, the CV joint design accommodates larger angles, but even a CV shaft will vibrate if operated beyond its maximum rated angle. Inspect the shaft for tube straightness, joint play, and yoke alignment before assuming the problem lies with the gearbox.

Q: What PTO shaft guard standard does CMN Transmission’s product meet?
A: CMN Transmission’s PTO shaft guard and PTO shaft cover assembly meets CE safety standards for rotating machinery guards, as required for equipment marketed in the European Union and many other export markets. The guard polymer is UV-stabilized for outdoor durability, and integrated anchor chains with hooks are included for attachment to non-rotating points on both tractor and implement. CE certification documentation is available upon request for customs clearance and liability compliance purposes.

Q: Does CMN offer OEM/private label PTO shaft orders for dealers?
A: Yes. CMN Transmission actively supports OEM and private-label partnerships for agricultural dealers, distributors, and machinery manufacturers who wish to offer a branded agricultural PTO shaft under their own label. Minimum order quantities apply; please contact our B2B team with your branding requirements, target PTO shaft sizes, and expected annual volume. Technical drawings, ISO/CE certification copies, and sample units can be arranged for pre-order evaluation. We serve dealer networks across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and more.

Q: What is the difference between a shear bolt and a slip clutch PTO shaft?
A: A shear bolt PTO shaft uses a calibrated bolt that snaps at a set torque to interrupt drive and protect the implement; re-engagement requires replacing the bolt, which takes time in the field. A slip clutch PTO shaft uses friction discs that slip at the rated torque and re-engage automatically once the overload clears, allowing faster recovery. For disc mowers like the DC93/DC103, the combination clutch (FNT34) preferred by Case IH and supplied by CMN uses the slip clutch principle plus an overrunning element, providing faster recovery and better ongoing driveline protection than a shear pin PTO shaft design.

Avis clients

Travis Hollingsworth, Farm Manager, United States
“Been running a DC103 on our 220-acre mixed hay operation for about six seasons. The original Weasler unit finally had its U-joints give out after a particularly heavy alfalfa season. Ordered the CAT6 CV replacement from CMN Transmission about two months back. The 1.375-21 yoke slid right onto the tractor PTO stub, no shimming needed whatsoever. We’ve done roughly 160 hours since then, a mix of alfalfa and orchardgrass in some pretty wet May conditions. The shaft runs dead smooth, zero vibration, and the guard didn’t crack even after catching a couple of fence posts during a tight headland turn. Genuinely impressed with the build quality at this price point. Would not hesitate to order again.”

Liam O’Sullivan, Dairy Farmer, Ireland
“We run a DC93 on our 85-hectare dairy farm in Co. Tipperary. Had been using an OEM shaft for four years, which served well, but the price from the local Case IH dealer here had gotten quite steep for a replacement. CMN came up in my search for a Weasler replacement, and I sent them the tractor and mower details. Their technical lad came back within a few hours with the confirmed spline spec and a dimensional drawing. Shipped to Ireland in about 9 days, which I thought was fair. Fitting was straightforward, took maybe 40 minutes including the guard chains. About halfway through our second silage cut now with the new shaft, and it’s running perfectly. The combination clutch tripped once on a stone, protected everything nicely. Good value, solid bit of kit.”

Klaus Brinkmann, Agricultural Dealer, Germany
“We stock CMN Transmission’s PTO shaft range for several disc mower models including the DC93 and DC103. Our customers are primarily livestock and mixed farms in Lower Saxony, and PTO shaft replacement comes up several times a season. CMN’s pricing gives us a competitive margin compared to reselling OEM parts, and the quality is genuinely comparable. We’ve had zero warranty claims in two seasons of selling this exact CAT6 shaft for the DC93/DC103 application. The packaging is robust, all specifications are correctly labeled, and their B2B customer service answers queries promptly. From a dealer’s perspective, the combination clutch specification and guard quality are the main things our customers ask about, and both are well above typical aftermarket standard.”

Jean-Pierre Moreau, Crop Farmer, France
“I ordered a power take-off shaft for my DC103. Although my English is not perfect, the CMN team responded to my technical questions, helping me confirm the correct spline configuration. The delivery time to France was 11 working days, which is reasonable. The quality is good; the constant velocity joint rotates without vibrations even during tight turns at the end of the field. The PTO shaft guard protection is solid, quite different from the low-grade parts I had tried previously. It offers good value for money, and I recommend it for all users of Case IH mower-conditioners. Good quality shaft, correct fit on first installation, fast pre-sale technical support. Would order again for our second DC103.”

Matteo Rinaldi, Hay Contractor, Italy
“We run three DC103s across our hay contracting operation in Emilia-Romagna. When one primary shaft failed mid-season, the local OEM dealer couldn’t supply within a reasonable time. Found CMN Transmission online and they confirmed availability and shipping the same day. Arrived in 8 working days, which for international shipping during busy season I found very acceptable. The CAT6 1.375-21 spline shaft fit our John Deere 6R tractor perfectly on the DC103, 1000 RPM connection, no issues. After 200+ hours cutting ryegrass, clover, and some heavy lucerne, the shaft shows no signs of wear or play. The friction clutch setting was spot-on for our typical crop conditions. Good experience from a logistics and quality standpoint.”

Ryan Fitzgerald, Livestock Farmer, Australia
“Getting parts to rural New South Wales from anywhere overseas is always a bit of a punt on lead times. I was upfront with CMN’s team about the urgency and they prioritized DHL Express shipping. Got here in 11 days door to door from Korea, which for agricultural parts in our corner of Australia is honestly pretty good. Fitment on the DC93 was straightforward, I did it myself with basic tools in under an hour. We’ve been through one full ryegrass season and into the start of our clover cut now. The shaft runs smooth, the guard is intact, and the overrunning clutch works as expected when we shut the PTO down. Price was about 40% less than what the local Case dealer quoted me for an OEM equivalent. Good product.”

Carlos Mendoza, Equipment Importer, Argentina
“We import and distribute agricultural machinery parts in Buenos Aires province, and we’ve been sourcing PTO shafts from CMN Transmission for the past 18 months, including the DC93/DC103 application. Our clients are larger farms running Case IH equipment for alfalfa and soybean cover crop termination. CMN’s ability to supply OEM-quantity orders with correct CE documentation is essential for customs clearance here. Product quality is consistently good, the pre-sale technical team confirms correct specs every time. The combination clutch on the secondary shaft has proven reliable even on farms where operators are not particularly careful about engaging PTO at full throttle, which is unfortunately common. We have established CMN as our preferred source for this and several other PTO shaft applications.”

Piotr Kowalski, Custom Hayer, Poland
“Custom hay contracting in Mazovia region, Poland. We run two DC103s on contract cutting, both on 1000 RPM 21-spline connection with New Holland T7 tractors. The secondary Category 5 Double CV shaft on one machine developed a cracked guard and worn friction disc after three intensive seasons. Ordered replacements from CMN. Price including shipping to Poland was competitive with local B&P distributors. Delivery was 9 days. The new secondary shaft was a direct match for dimensions and clutch torque; no adjustment needed before running. We ran both shafts through a full grass and alfalfa season this year, approximately 280 combined hours. No issues to report. The build quality on the CV joints is good, comparable to the Bondioli units I’ve used before. Will continue ordering from CMN.”

David Patel, Farm Machinery Dealer, Canada
“We’re a farm machinery parts dealer in southwestern Ontario, and we added CMN Transmission’s PTO shaft line to our aftermarket inventory last spring. The DC93/DC103 application was one of our first orders. Lead time from Korea to our warehouse in Chatham was about 12 days by air freight, which works for our inventory replenishment cycle. From a dealer’s perspective, the product packaging is professional, specs are accurate and match what’s published, and the technical support from CMN when we have a challenging customer application is genuinely helpful. Our customers who’ve bought this shaft have been satisfied with fit and durability. The key competitive advantage for us is the factory-direct pricing, which gives us room to offer a fair retail margin while still undercutting OEM replacement cost by a meaningful amount.”

A precision-built disc mower PTO shaft engineered specifically for Case IH DC93 and DC103 side-pull disc mower conditioners.
