Composant critique mont\u00e9 sur le train de roulement, il convertit la puissance du moteur en propulsion contr\u00f4l\u00e9e pour les chenilles. Ce r\u00e9ducteur utilise un train \u00e9picyclo\u00efdal compos\u00e9 d'un pignon central (le plan\u00e9taire) reli\u00e9 \u00e0 l'arbre d'entr\u00e9e du moteur, de plusieurs satellites mont\u00e9s sur un porte-satellites et tournant autour du pignon central, et d'une couronne dent\u00e9e fix\u00e9e au carter, qui s'engr\u00e8ne avec les satellites pour transmettre la force aux chenilles.<\/p>\n<p>Le principe de fonctionnement repose sur un engrenage \u00e9picyclo\u00efdal\u00a0: la rotation du pignon solaire entra\u00eene celle des satellites, qui tournent \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de la couronne, permettant ainsi une r\u00e9duction de vitesse et une multiplication du couple dans un format compact. Cette conception offre une densit\u00e9 de couple \u00e9lev\u00e9e, permettant au tracteur de supporter des charges importantes, de se d\u00e9placer sur des terrains accident\u00e9s et de conserver sa stabilit\u00e9 lors de d\u00e9marrages, d\u2019arr\u00eats et de changements de direction fr\u00e9quents.
