Les engrenages coniques sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement utilis\u00e9s pour transmettre le mouvement entre des arbres formant un angle, le plus souvent \u00e0 90 degr\u00e9s. Dans ce syst\u00e8me pr\u00e9cis, l'expression \u00ab\u00a0denture droite\u00a0\u00bb signifie que les dents sont taill\u00e9es de fa\u00e7on lin\u00e9aire, et non courbe ou h\u00e9lico\u00efdale.<\/p>\n<p>Ce type d'engrenage assure une transmission de vitesse et de couple identique entre les engrenages sans modifier la vitesse de rotation. Le laiton a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi pour son excellente r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l'usure et \u00e0 la corrosion, ainsi que pour son fonctionnement silencieux dans diverses applications industrielles et
