Esta caja de engranajes utiliza un sistema epicicloidal compuesto por un engranaje solar central que recibe potencia de un motor hidr\u00e1ulico o el\u00e9ctrico, m\u00faltiples engranajes planetarios que orbitan alrededor del engranaje solar y engranan con este y con una corona dentada exterior fija, y un portador que aloja los engranajes planetarios y act\u00faa como mecanismo de salida conectado a las orugas. En las fresadoras de asfalto \u2014m\u00e1quinas especializadas dise\u00f1adas para fresar y retirar capas de asfalto o concreto de la superficie de las carreteras\u2014 la caja de engranajes se instala dentro del sistema de transmisi\u00f3n para proporcionar propulsi\u00f3n, permitiendo un movimiento de baja velocidad y alto par, esencial para la estabilidad en terrenos irregulares y un funcionamiento eficiente bajo cargas considerables.<\/p>\n<p>Entre sus principales ventajas destacan la alta densidad de par gracias a la distribuci\u00f3n uniforme de la carga en m\u00faltiples puntos de contacto de los engranajes, una eficiencia mec\u00e1nica que a menudo supera a la del 95% con m\u00ednimas p\u00e9rdidas por fricci\u00f3n, una mayor durabilidad gracias a los materiales endurecidos y los sellos integrados que resisten contaminantes y cargas de impacto, y un tama\u00f1o compacto que facilita su perfecta integraci\u00f3n en el tren de rodaje.
