The disc mower PTO shaft is the mechanical link between the tractor’s power output and the disc mower’s internal drive system. On a pull-type drawbar machine like the Case IH 8312, the PTO driveline shaft must accommodate the lateral, vertical, and fore-aft movement of the articulating hitch while transmitting torque continuously at 1,000 RPM. The Double Constant Velocity design used in this CAT 6 shaft ensures that despite these angular and positional changes, the rotational speed delivered to the disc mower gearbox input remains smooth and constant. Without a functioning tractor PTO drive shaft, the entire disc mower cutterbar and conditioning system is immobilized regardless of the condition of the gearbox, knives, or conditioning rolls.<\/p>\n
